About
Claire is a lecturer in dermal sciences within the College of Sport, Health & Engineering.
She started her career in orthodontic nursing and beauty therapy, before returning to university to become a dermal clinician. Claire has now been an academic for over 17 years. Her education background is varied and she has qualifications in dermal science, microbiology, cosmetic chemistry and bioarchaeology. Her areas of interest include craniofacial anatomy, skin biochemistry and pathology, and vitamin D metabolism.
During her own postgraduate study, Claire spent time in the UK analysing skeletal remains from the Roman, medieval and post medieval periods. Claire is the current course chair for the Bachelor of Dermal Science degree at Victoria University.
