How VU's pathways led Kelly to her dream career as a paramedic

Kelly's bold career change is paying off, thanks to VU's pathways in paramedicine.

"After eight years as a chef, it took a family member's accident for me to realise my calling was in paramedics. I chose VU because of its excellent name in the industry and because I valued the emphasis they put on hands-on learning.

I found the pathway from TAFE into the degree was invaluable for my development.

My first job in the industry was working as an ambulance attendant with Paramedic Services Victoria. I am now working as a paramedic with Ambulance Victoria.

I love being on the road. I constantly get to help and interact with people from different walks of life.
