Music industry mogul
At VU I was able to connect with Ian James, who runs Mushroom Music. I started my company, UNIFIED Music Group and I’m proud to say it's one of Australia’s fastest growing independent music companies.

Bachelor of Business – Music Industry
While at VU, Jaddan Comerford started a small music business. Today that company is called UNIFIED Music Group, a 90-person strong record label and artist services business managing the likes of Vance Joy, Illy, Tash Sultana and The Amity Affliction. And this year, it will turn over $30 million.
“I got a great education at VU – particularly on the business side. The music industry is very creative and not always focused on the technical side of business, so completing this degree was very helpful.
“At VU I was able to connect with Ian James, who runs Mushroom Music, after he gave a guest lecture for one of my subjects. He was one of the first people in the music industry to give me the time of day and we work together to this day.
“I started my first company in 2001 and we now have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, LA and London. I’m proud to say that UNIFIED is one of Australia’s fastest growing independent music companies. We’ve signed some game-changing artists .
“Now I’m usually based in LA and oversee 90 staff worldwide.”
