Teaching a cut above the rest
Every teacher in our department has many years' experience in the field ranging from theatre, television, big-budget feature film and fashion.

Hairdressing and Specialist Make-up lecturer
Specialist Make-Up teacher Mary Garrett-Bond benefited from VU’s industry-focused learning as a student, and is now giving her students real workplace experience.
"Victoria University provided mentoring and sponsorship which was extremely valuable to my learning. They made it possible for me to further my studies and stay current with our industry teachings.
I did learning in the workplace activities throughout my diploma in many establishments, which allowed me to observe other qualifications and teaching methods.
The benefits of industry connections to students in our course are enormous. Every teacher in our department has many years in the field and experiences range from theatre, television, big-budget feature film, fashion/catwalk and photographic shoots, with close industry contacts in each department.
The students benefit from these connections as they are called upon to do work experience in many areas. For example, my own students have had the opportunity to create wigs and beards for the Myer Christmas windows."
The quality of training, the devotion and support of the teaching staff, the resources and industry connections, the enthusiasm and passion is evident."
