This unit will provide an introduction to the theory and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Students will gain an understanding of the stages and processes of CBT. They will also gain experience in the development and application of CBT techniques, including the application of cognitive behavioural formulation and treatment planning in relation to mood and affective presentations across a range of client groups. The successful completion of this unit is necessary to commence placement at the Victoria University psychology clinic in HPP7001 Practicum 1 (HMPP Master of Professional Psychology/ AMAL Master of Applied Psychology [Clinical Psychology]).
