Work in the world of events with the Event Planning and Promotion unit.

In this specialist event management unit, you will learn how to plan and promote managed events. You will critique concepts of creativity and foster your creative skills. Plus, evaluate the barriers to creativity and discover methods to counter these barriers.

You will:

  • appraise designs
  • synthesise related skills and sources of information
  • compose an event design
  • consider ethics and sustainability
  • use computer-aided design (CAD) and other industry relevant digital platforms and software.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Determine critical understanding of the formation of an event concept;
  2. Distinguish and assess the elements required to foster creativity in event design, taking into account Ethical and sustainability considerations;
  3. Scrutinise, judge and employ a number of technical skills so as to enhance the production and promotion of events; and,
  4. Compose, justify and present a proposal for a unique event using skills learnt in the use of a CAD software program.
