Fundamentals of Project Management

This foundational unit introduces students to contemporary project management through the exploration of performance domains and knowledge areas. Students analyse project delivery requirements and develop key project documentation including project charters and preliminary project management plans. Using authentic industry-based scenarios, students apply both theoretical and practical approaches while investigating emerging digital technologies, particularly Generative AI applications. Students work collaboratively to develop fundamental project management competencies using both traditional and contemporary approaches. The unit is aligned with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) professional standards framework.
