This unit will allow students to apply, integrate and further develop their theoretical knowledge gained from earlier units. This unit will introduce students to pathophysiology and related pharmacology of cardiac and respiratory conditions. Evidence-based assessment and management of these patients will be explored within the Paramedic context, including the safe use of pharmacotherapies. Students will apply their knowledge as professionally and culturally safe clinicians underpinned by the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
