Overview

The Honours program consists of coursework and a science research project that will be carried out in this unit and in RBM4002 Science Honours 2. The coursework components cover a range of topics including advanced areas of research, critical appraisal of literature, ethics in research, research design and methods (qualitative and quantitative), presentation and analysis of data. The research project will be undertaken in one of the research areas of the College of Sport, Health and Engineering and may, subject to approval, be undertaken at an external location. The project will comprise a novel scientific investigation in an area of expertise of the approved supervisor(s). Assessments have been designed to facilitate progress on the research project. In this unit students will complete a literature review and research plan which will provide a critical analysis of research, rationale for their study and the research design. The oral presentation will enable students to report on the progress of their research project.
