Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan and prioritise own work tasks. It also addresses the skills and knowledge to monitor and obtain feedback on personal work performance.The unit applies to individuals who are required to design their own work schedules and work plans and to establish priorities for their work. They will typically hold some responsibilities for the work of others and have some autonomy in relation to their own role.

Assessment

For Melbourne campuses

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce & extend knowledge and skill competence within set & controlled parameters in accordance with each unit’s learning outcomes & performance criteria requirements, incl the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.

Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills:
*develop, implement and review one personal work schedule.

In the course of the above, the candidate must:
*identify personal responsibilities and barriers to their fulfilment according to task requirements
*prepare a personal work schedule
*communicate work schedule to relevant personnel
*monitor personal work performance to identify variations between expected and actual work performance
*review own work performance against workgroup objectives through self-assessment and seeking and acting on feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

Required reading

The qualified trainer and assessor will provide teaching and learning materials as required in the form of workbooks produced by Victoria University and/or via the Victoria University e-learning system.
