This unit of study develops the theme of ideological conflict through a study of the annihilation of European Jewry by the Nazis. The unit of study then examines social and political changes in post-war Europe and in particular the impact of Cold War tensions on Germany, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. It concludes by examining the political and social changes that occurred in 1968 in France, Czechoslovakia and Ireland.
