Overview

In this unit, the first of two IT Professional units, students will undertake an IT industry placement of at least 192 hours during the semester. Students will put into practice the knowledge and skills developed in their course. The placement needs to be approved by the Course Coordinator. Students will get an opportunity to gain valuable real-world IT professional experience, and knowledge of relevant industry practices such as 'Web and Mobile Application Development', 'Network and System Computing', time management, project management, team skills and client liaison. Because this is a placement unit, students can expect to encounter complex situations that they will need to pro-actively manage with support from their mentor and the unit convenor.
